...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM WEDNESDAY TO 6 PM THURSDAY...

.DISCUSSION...Showers are likely off and on through the day
Wednesday with periods of heavy rain becoming common sometime
between 8 pm Wednesday through 4 am Thursday as a strong cold
front pushes through the region. Minor flooding of roadways,
small streams, and low lying property is likely during this
window and may linger well into the Thursday morning hours.
There is a 30 percent chance of significant flooding or
debris flows with peak rainfall rates of 0.5-1.0 inch per
hour possible. There is also a 10-20 percent chance of
thunderstorms Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon
with damaging winds possible in addition to the heavy rainfall
threat.

A second system will likely bring mainly light showers to
the area Friday.
