.DISCUSSION...
A classic 4-Corners ridge of high pressure will bring an extended
period of heat to the area through Saturday, with temperatures 8-10
degrees above normal, before slightly cooling Sunday. Confidence in
winds being weaker than Wednesday and Wednesday night is high,
although there is a 30% chance north winds gust 20-25 mph between
0600-0800 Thursday. Timing of wind shift may be off +/- 1 hour.
Monsoon mositure will wrap into the region from the south-
southeast, bringing a 10-15% chance of showers and thunderstorms to
the area Friday afternoon. Saturday brings a greater chance of
thunderstorms, roughly a 15-25% chance. Any thunderstorm is capable
of producing gusty, erratic winds, lightning, and brief heavy
downpours.
