Cloudy coastal conditions linger through much of the morning with some chances for fog and drizzle. The marine layer is affecting some of the interior valleys, but fails to transport additional moisture to the far interior and higher elevations. The upper level pattern changes slightly in the next few days, offering a slight increase in onshore flow as well as a deeper marine layer that expands farther inland. This will lead to slight cooling and better humidity recoveries for the interior. The coast will stay cool, moist, and cloudy with that cloud cover building more inland into the next work week, leading to further improvements in humidities. The cooling trend plateaus in the mid week, but the cloudy pattern and strong marine layer presence lasts through the week. Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified. Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds. ...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard... ...ELEVATED RISK OF GRASS FIRES ACROSS THE INTERIOR TODAY INTO MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK, DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS... ...BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY TODAY ACROSS THE ANTELOPE VALLEY FOOTHILLS AND INTERIOR SLOPES OF THE SAN GABRIELS DUE TO OVERLAP OF GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITIES... With the marine layer depth shrinking, there will be a gradual warming and drying trend across the interior through Sunday. Temperatures between 90 and 100 degrees will be common across the interior during this time, with humidities falling to between 5 and 20 percent, with the warmest and driest conditions in the Antelope Valley and interior slopes of the San Gabriels. There will also be poor humidity recoveries in the mountains and adjacent foothills tonight. Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph will be common across the interior through the middle of next week, with isolated gusts as high as 40 mph across the Antelope Valley foothills and interior slopes of the San Gabriels (today). Temperatures are expected to lower a few degrees across the interior Tuesday through Friday, but there will continue to be gusty onshore winds and low humidities. The gusty onshore winds in combination with the very warm and dry conditions will result in an elevated risk of grass fires across the interior through the middle of next week, especially in the Antelope Valley and adjacent foothills. There will likely be brief critical fire weather conditions today across the Antelope Valley foothills and interior slopes of the San Gabriels due to the overlap of gusty onshore winds and very low humidities. $$ ECC028-291045- Santa Barbara County excluding Los Padres National Forest- Discussion for Santa Barbara ECC Dispatch 945 AM PDT Sat Jun 28 2025 ...ELEVATED RISK OF GRASS FIRES ACROSS THE INTERIOR TODAY INTO MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK, DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS... ...BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKELY TODAY ACROSS THE ANTELOPE VALLEY FOOTHILLS AND INTERIOR SLOPES OF THE SAN GABRIELS DUE TO OVERLAP OF GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS AND VERY LOW HUMIDITIES...
