...Discussion from Monterey...

Dry conditions continue through the day on Friday. Returning onshore
flow will contribute to the formation of a shallow coastal marine
layer and improved overnight and daytime humidity values through
the weekend. A weak cold front will bring a low chance for drizzle
to the North Bay on Sunday. Wetting rain chances increase Monday
into Tuesday as a stronger storm system moves into the West Coast.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard...

...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE COAST THROUGH SUNDAY
DUE TO LINGERING LOW HUMIDITIES AND GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS...

...POTENTIAL FOR GUSTY NORTH TO NORTHEAST AND LOWERING HUMIDITIES
TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY

Winds have turned onshore across much of the forecast area this
afternoon, including the Mountain Fire zone. Onshore wind gusts of
15 to 20 mph are overlapping with humidities of 7 to 15 percent
across many areas away from the coast today. Similar dry conditions
are expected away from the coast through the weekend, along with
onshore wind gusts of 15 to 25 mph. As a result, there will be
elevated fire weather conditions for areas away from the coast each
afternoon through the weekend.

A weak cold front could bring a small chance of light rain to the
area on Monday and Monday evening. Behind this system there will be
increasing northwest winds, with gusts of 35 to 50 mph, late Monday
afternoon into Monday night (strongest in southern Santa Barbara
county and I-5 corridor). Winds will shift to a more northerly
direction with gusts of 35 to 55 mph on Tuesday along with a
lowering of humidities by afternoon. The winds will finally shift to
the north-northeast Tuesday night into Wednesday, with a continued
drying trend. There is a 20 percent chance of Red Flag conditions
sometime between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon.
