Slightly cooler to near seasonal temperatures will continue through
mid-week before a modest warming trend arrives late week. Onshore
winds and the typical marine layer will keep the  relative humidity
high in low coastal areas and moderate across  higher elevations and
further inland. NW winds will gust up to 40 kts Sunday - Monday near
favored peaks and passes in the East Bay.

Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified.
Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds.

...BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER POSSIBLE THIS WEEKEND FOR INTERIOR
MOUNTAINS FOCUSED NEAR THE I-5 CORRIDOR...

Seasonably elevated fire weather conditions will continue for
interior areas including the Antelope Valley and foothills. Gusty
northwest winds will peak each afternoon to evening focused across
southwest Santa  Barbara County (Sundowners) but also extending into
the interior  mountains focused near the I-5 cooridor at times this
weekend. Peak  wind of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 30 to locally
45 mph (near Gaviota)  is expected through today, with the potential
to be 5 to 10 mph stronger Saturday or Sunday. The driest interior
and high elevation areas will  continue to experience min humidities
of 6-15 percent with 20-50 percent in drier areas of southwest Santa
Barbara County.

Gradual warming and drying trends are likely through this weekend,
especially above an inland of a shallow marine layer. No monsoon
moisture is expected through at least this weekend.

Outlook: Moderate risk for a heatwave roughly Wednesday-Friday
(8/6-8/8).
