Offshore flow continues to weaken this morning, and the remaining Red Flag Warning for the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties is set to expire at 11 am today. Lingering offshore wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph will still be possible this morning across these mountains along with humidity levels around 10 percent. A more pronounced and earlier onshore wind shift is expected to occur across much of the region late this morning and afternoon, including the Mountain Fire. Despite the onshore wind shift today, there will be lingering dry air today across much of areas away from the immediate coast, with humidities of 7 to 15 percent common. There will be gradual humidity recoveries late in the day into the evening hours along coastal areas. Similar onshore winds and low humidities are expected on Saturday, then a slight increase in onshore winds are expected on Sunday. As a result, elevated fire weather conditions are in effect for areas away from the immediate coast today, then confined to inland areas over the weekend as humidity levels continue to climb across coastal areas. There will be the risk of increasing northwest to north winds Monday night into Tuesday across the region as a weak weather system passes to the north. During this time, humidity levels are expected to remain elevated. By Tuesday night into Wednesday, there will be the potential for gusty north to northeast winds and lowering humidities which may bring some additional fire weather concerns to the region. $$ ECC028-091145- Santa Barbara County excluding Los Padres National Forest- Discussion for Santa Barbara ECC Dispatch 933 AM PST Fri Nov 8 2024 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM TODAY FOR THE LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS DUE TO GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES... ...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS AWAY FROM THE IMMEDIATE COAST TODAY, SHIFTING TO INLAND AREAS OVER THE WEEKEND DUE TO LINGERING LOW HUMIDITIES AND GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS...
