Fire weather concerns are low with an unsettled pattern for the beginning of the upcoming work week. Widespread scattered light showers across our area can be expected from late tonight through much of the day Monday. By late Monday into early Tuesday, the focus of the most intense rain will be in the higher elevations of the Santa Lucias, with lesser amounts for low lying interior portions of Monterey County and San Benito County. Note : All winds are 20-foot Winds Unless otherwise specified. Thunderstorms imply strong, gusty and erratic winds. ...Discussion from Los Angeles/Oxnard... ...PERIODS OF RAIN THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... Periods of rain will impact the region later tonight through Wednesday morning. Confidence is high in widespread rain over the region, with the highest rainfall amounts and intensities focused across San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. The next impulse is expected to bring more widespread light to moderate rain to the region between Monday and Tuesday, with a chance of lingering shower activity into Wednesday morning. The most likely outcome is for widespread light to moderate rain with the threat of some locally heavier rainfall at times Monday into early Tuesday causing roadway flooding in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. There is also a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms across San Luis Obispo county Monday afternoon into evening. Rainfall amounts through Wednesday are expected to range between 1.50 to 2.50 inches across much of San Luis Obispo County (except 3 to 5 inches in the Santa Lucias), 1.00 to 2.50 inches in Santa Barbara County, 0.33 to 1.00 inches in Ventura County, and 0.20 to 0.50 inches in LA county. Peak rainfall rates for San Luis Obispo County are expected to be 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour, and 0.25 to 0.33 inches per hour for Santa Barbara County. While these rainfall amounts and intensities are the most likely outcome with this event, there is a 10-20 percent chance of totals and intensities up to double the amounts listed above. There is a cutoff low that develops later in the week that will bring a chance of showers at times from Thanksgiving Day through Saturday, but confidence remains low, and there is also an equal chance of drier offshore flow developing during that time frame. $$ ECC028-251730- Santa Barbara County excluding Los Padres National Forest- Discussion for Santa Barbara ECC Dispatch 320 PM PST Sun Nov 24 2024 ...PERIODS OF RAIN THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...
