.DISCUSSION...
A deepening marine layer will maintain cool and moist conditions through
Saturday with a small chance for drizzle or light rain. Northwest to
north winds will increase Saturday afternoon and peak on Sunday. Gusts
of 30 to 50 mph are likely over much of San Luis Obispo and Santa
Barbara Counties, as well as the mountains and deserts of Los Angeles
and Ventura Counties. Isolated but damaging gusts of 60 mph are
possible Sunday afternoon and evening especially in the Antelope Valley.
Humidities will lower into the 20 to 40 percent range in the windy
locations, with local humidities down to 15 percent. As a result, there
is an elevated risk for grass fires where the grass crops are abundant.
The winds will turn briefly northeasterly on Monday with gusts of 15 to
30 mph in the mountains. High pressure will then build over the area
Tuesday through Thursday, with high temperatures likely into the 92 to
102 degree range common away from the coast.
