...ELEVATED TO BRIEF CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS FOR THE INTERIOR VALLEYS,
MOUNTAINS, AND DESERTS THROUGH TUESDAY...
.DISCUSSION...
Warm and dry conditions with increasing onshore winds will bring elevated to
brief critical fire weather conditions across the interior through Tuesday.
While conditions are improving across the coast the next few days, humidities
will lower to between 8 and 20 percent across the interior, while onshore wind
gusts increase to 25 to 40 mph. The greatest concern for brief critical
fire weather conditions will be Monday into Tuesday across the Antelope
Valley and adjacent foothills, and LA county mountains. Gusty sundowner
winds with warm and dry conditions will bring elevated fire weather conditions
to southwest Santa Barbara county through this evening.
A slight influx of mid level monsoonal moisture bring a 10-15 percent chance of
light showers to LA county from Tuesday afternoon into night. Remnants of a
tropical storm may bring some rain and surf impacts to the region during the
Labor Day weekend, but there is considerable uncertainty in the track of
the storm with a wide range out of outcomes.
