Issued by NWS Los Angeles, CA
774 FNUS56 KLOX 071631 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 931 AM PDT Tue Oct 7 2025 ...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS LA/VENTURA COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND ANTELOPE VALLEY FOOTHILLS THROUGH WEDNESDAY, INCLUDING SANTA CLARITA VALLEY TODAY DUE TO BREEZY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES... .DISCUSSION... Through Wednesday, there will be some gusty northeast to south winds across the interior mountains and Antelope Valley foothills with gusts in the 20 to 35 mph range. Isolated southwest wind gusts to 40 mph will be possible across the San Gabriels on Wednesday. During this time, the interior areas will see humidities fall to 12 to 25 percent each day, resulting in elevated fire weather concerns for the LA/Ventura mountains, Antelope Valley foothills, and Santa Clarita valley. A surge of subtropical moisture from a remnant tropical system will bring a chance of rain showers (mainly Los Angeles county south and east) this Thursday night into Saturday. There is also a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms for LA county during this time. Gusty northwest to north winds with peak gusts potentially 30 to 50 mph in prone interior areas and southwest Santa Barbara County is possible this weekend, although humidities should generally remain elevated, above 25 percent. A cold low pressure system may bring widespread rain to the region early next week, but there is also a good chance the system stays east, bringing wind and fire weather concerns.
