165 FNUS56 KLOX 052002 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 102 PM PDT Thu Jun 5 2025 ...SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS INTO THIS EVENING OVER THE MOUNTAINS... .DISCUSSION... Lingering moisture and instability will bring one more 10 to 20 percent chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms into this evening for the Ventura and Los Angeles County mountains. The rest of the area has a near zero chance. Otherwise, fairly benign conditions will continue through the week. A deep marine layer will dominate the coastal side of the ranges with elevated humidities and periods of drizzle. Lower humidities between 15 and 30 percent will affect the higher elevations, interior valleys and the Antelope Valley through the weekend, thus there will continue to be a persistent risk of grass fires. High pressure aloft will build next week, with dry and warm conditions Sunday through Tuesday. High temperatures of 90 to 100 will be common over the valleys and lower mountains. Humidities will lower into the 10 to 20 percent range over the drier interior, and 20 to 40 percent over the warmer coastal valleys. Winds will shift to more northwesterly, with gusts of 25 to 40 mph in the typically winds locations like southwest Santa Barbara County and northern Los Angeles County. This will elevate the risk for grass fires once again.
