Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
259 PM PDT Fri Sep 18 2026

.DISCUSSION...
The marine layer will lower some on Saturday, but continue to moderate the
coastal and valley areas into next week. Modest warming expected through
the weekend with highs in the 80s to lower 90s common. Humidities will
generally stay above 20 percent, but dry air above the marine layer will
continue to keep minimum humidities over some mountains and interior
valleys in the 8 to 15 percent range. Winds will generally be light,
except for typically breezy southwest to northwest winds over the interior
areas of 10 to 20 mph with gusts of 20 to 30 mph at time, as well as the
Sundowner area of southwest Santa Barbara County.A weak upper level low
pressure system will bring a 5-10 percent chance of showers and
thunderstorms to the mountains of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara
counties on Sunday, spreading to all mountain by Monday.
