256 FNUS56 KLOX 082232 FWFLOX Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA 332 PM PDT Wed Oct 8 2025 ...SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS WITH DRY LIGHTNING FOR EASTERN LOS ANGELES COUNTY THURSDAY AND FRIDAY... ...WIDESPREAD WETTING RAIN POSSIBLE TUESDAY OR WEDENSDAY... .DISCUSSION... Elevated fire weather conditions peaking this afternoon, except continuing well into the evening for the ridgetops is anticipated for the Ventura County mountains and eastern Los Angeles County mountains and desert where humidities of 12-25 percent will overlap with winds gusting 20 to locally 40 mph. A surge of subtropical moisture from a remnant tropical system will bring a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms focused across eastern LA County Thursday into Friday. Dry lightning fire starts will be possible along with gusty winds. Gusty northwest to north winds with peak gusts potentially 30 to 50 mph in prone interior areas and southwest Santa Barbara County is possible this Saturday although humidities should generally remain elevated, above 25 percent. A weak offshore push may lead to elevated fire weather conditions for the mountains and interior valleys on Sunday with wind gusts of 20 to 35 mph and min humidities dipping to between 12-25 percent. Active weather will continue early next week increasing chances for wetting rain, especially for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties. Only moderate confidence in wetting rain further south for Ventura and Los Angeles Counties.
