DUE TO GUSTY SUNDOWNER WINDS WITH WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...
.DISCUSSION...
Moderately hot and dry conditions will continue through Monday with
very little day to day changes. Temperatures between 95 and 105 will be
common over most valleys, mountains, and deserts. These temperatures could
bump up slightly from Tuesday through Thursday, especially across the
valleys and interior coastal plain as weak offshore pressure trends are
likely to develop. This will likely translate into expansion of elevated
fire weather conditions over these areas. Minimum humidities will lower to
between 12 and 25 percent each day. Meanwhile, mixing heights will likely
range between 10,000 and 15,000 feet across the interior each afternoon,
which will maintain the threat for large plume dominated fires. Gusty sundowner
winds will likely affect southwest Santa Barbara County the next several evenings,
potentially becoming slightly stronger/widespread with hotter temperatures
by Tuesday and Wednesday evening. This will bring an elevated risk for fast
moving fires. There is a 5-15 percent chance of monsoonal showers and thunderstorms over the
mountains and deserts of Los Angeles and Ventura Counties between today
and Sunday, highest today.
