Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California

330 PM PST Tue Nov 11 2025
...MODERATE STORM SYSTEM TO IMPACT SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA BETWEEN LATE
WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY, WITH BULK OF RAINFALL LIKELY THURSDAY AND
FRIDAY...
.DISCUSSION...
A storm system will affect southwest California sometime between
Wednesday night and Saturday, with the bulk of the rain falling Thursday
and Friday. Rainfall rates may be sufficiently high to bring flash
flooding and debris flow concerns to recent burn scars. Light rain may
start as early as Wednesday night north of Point Conception, traveling
from north to south through the day Thursday and into Thursday night. All
day Friday, rain will again be possible for the region. There is a 10 to
20 percent chance of thunderstorms for San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara
County on Thursday and a 10 to 20 percent chance for all counties on
Friday. Gusty winds out of the south will occur at times Thursday and
Friday, with peak gusts of 35 to 50 mph possible across mountains, the
Interstate 5 Corridor, and the Antelope Valley, and 20 to 35 mph common
elsewhere. Rain may persist across LA and Ventura Counties on Saturday and
Sunday, with chances for Santa Barbara County, however confidence is
overall low for the weekend forecast.
