WEDNESDAY DUE TO GUSTY ONSHORE WINDS WITH VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS...
.DISCUSSION...
A shallower marine layer will continue to bring very warm and dry conditions
to the interior, with some additional warming expected to expand into the
coastal valleys today. Temperatures between 90 and 100 degrees will be common
today through Wednesday across the interior, with humidities falling to between
5 and 20 percent, with the warmest and driest conditions in the Antelope Valley.
There will also be poor humidity recoveries in the mountains and adjacent
foothills tonight. Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 25 to 35 mph will
be common across the interior through at least the middle of this week, with
isolated gusts as high as 40 mph across the Antelope Valley foothills.
Temperatures are expected to lower a few degrees across the interior
Tuesday through Friday, but there will continue to be gusty onshore
winds and low humidities. The gusty onshore winds in combination with
the very warm and dry conditions will result in an elevated risk of grass
fires across the interior through at least Wednesday, especially in the
Antelope Valley and adjacent foothills.
