The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  A Small Portion of West Central Los Angeles County in southwestern
  California...

* Until 600 PM PDT.

* At 400 PM PDT, the public reported flooding from thunderstorms
  with heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
  or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Public reported flooding beginning.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Rock slides
           and mud slides will be possible.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Northridge, Van Nuys, Granada Hills, Sylmar, Pacoima, Porter
  Ranch, Panorama City, Arleta, San Fernando and North Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
