...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN PORTER AND
NORTHEASTERN LAKE COUNTIES THROUGH 830 PM CDT...

At 753 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm
capable of producing a waterspout over Lake Michigan near Ogden
Dunes, or near Gary, moving southeast at 20 mph. There is a
potential for a waterspout to move ashore near and just west of
Ogden Dunes, with this threat confined to the immediate lakefront.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts up to 40 mph, and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
         and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to
         vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Gary, Portage, Hobart, Chesterton, Lake Station, New Chicago, Burns
Harbor, and Ogden Dunes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
