The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...

  Nearshore Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Calumet Harbor...
  Nearshore Waters from Calumet Harbor to Michigan City...
  Open Waters from Winthrop Harbor to Michigan City out to Mid
Lake...

* Until 615 PM CDT.

* At 419 PM CDT, NWS meteorologists were tracking strong
  thunderstorms across southwestern Lake Michigan. All were moving
  eastward at about 25 kt. Additional storms were developing over
  northeastern Illinois, and will move over Lake Michigan as well.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots.

  SOURCE...Buoy Observations. A 35 kt wind gust was recently
           measured at the Wilmette Buoy.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Harrison-Dever Crib, Calumet Harbor, Marina Shores at Dune Harbor,
  Michigan City, 59th Street Marina, Hammond Marina, Wilmette Harbor,
  Indiana Harbor, Jackson Park Harbor, Burns Harbor, and DuSable
  Harbor.

Stay in safe harbor immediately as gusty winds and high waves are
expected.
