...A Look Back at the Climate for Meteorological Summer (June,
July, August) 2024 for Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 83.7 degrees, which
is 1.2 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
65.5 degrees, which is 1.4 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the month was 74.6 degrees, which is 1.3 degrees
above normal. 11.59 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 0.47 inches below normal.

Daily and top ten monthly records established for Chicago this
past summer...

June:
* Record Daily High Temperature of 97 degrees on 17th.
* Record Daily High Minimum Temperature of 78 degrees on 18th.

** Tied Record 10th Warmest June at 73.9 degrees.

July:
* Record Daily Rainfall of 1.60 inches on 13th.

August:
* Tied Record Daily High Minimum Temperature of 74 degrees on
  25th.
* Record Daily High Minimum Temperature of 79 degrees on 26th.
* Record Daily High Temperature of 99 degrees on 27th.

No top ten seasonal records were set for Chicago during this past
summer.


At Rockford, the average high temperature was 83.4 degrees, which
is 1.2 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
62.5 degrees, which is 0.8 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the month was 72.9 degrees, which is 1.0 degrees
above normal. 14.48 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 1.25 inches above normal.
