.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than they were on
Tuesday, with onshore winds holding temperatures and mixing
heights lower near the lake. Similar to past days, afternoon RH
values will be a bit variable, but are generally expected to fall
into the 25 to 35 percent range away from the lake. Warmer
conditions are expected on Thursday into the weekend. Lake cooling
on Thursday will be confined mainly to the Illinois shore, with
offshore winds expected nearly everywhere Friday through Sunday--
except for perhaps immediate lakeside areas in Lake county, IL.
Southerly winds will increase a bit on Saturday, but primarily on
Sunday, and some gusts up to 30 mph appear possible near and west
of the Fox Valley. With minimum RH values forecast into the 25 to
35 percent range, a heightened fire danger is possible given the
persistent dry stretch. A cold front will eventually bring a
chance for showers and cooler temperatures to the region next
week.
