Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
343 AM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Warm and dry conditions are expected today with highs in the 80s
and light east to southeast winds up to around 10 mph. An
afternoon lake breeze turns winds northeast near the lakeshore
where temperatures may remain in the 70s. Deep mixing will allow
afternoon relative humidity values to drop into the 30-40 percent
range inland ahead of the lake breeze in the afternoon. It is
possible the RH could drop below 30 percent in some spots. Expect
similar conditions through the remainder of the work week.

Precipitation chances make a return toward the end of the week
with highs back in the 70s for most of the area this weekend.
