Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
348 PM CDT Sun Oct 5 2025

.DISCUSSION...An elevated fire danger will continue through early
this evening with southwest winds gusting to 30 mph, which will
quickly diminish with sunset. Relative humidity levels in the 20
to 25 percent range will begin to rise after sunset. These weather
conditions combined with the dry fuel conditions may make any
fires that ignite difficult to control through early this evening.

A cold front will move across the area late Monday afternoon into
Monday evening, bringing a chance of showers and a few
thunderstorms. There will be a continued chance of showers
into Tuesday, mainly in the morning. While there may be some
isolated heavier amounts of rain, overall rainfall amounts look
to remain light, with most areas expected to see less than a half
inch. There will be another chance of showers Friday with another
above normal temperature pattern possible next weekend.
