.DISCUSSION...
Snow is ongoing this afternoon and will continue through the
evening then end from west to east overnight. Snowfall amounts in
the 1 to 3 inch range are expected, with locally higher amounts
south of the Kankakee River Valley. Tuesday will be dry and then
a cold front will move across the area Wednesday afternoon into
Wednesday evening, bringing another low chance for snow. Northwest
winds may gust as high as 25 mph behind the cold front Wednesday
evening. The coldest air of the season thus far will arrive
Wednesday night and continue into Friday with subzero single digit
low temps expected across parts of the area Thursday morning and
again Friday morning. There will be additional snow chances this
weekend but there remains high uncertainty for timing and
location.
