Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
337 PM CST Mon Nov 24 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Rain will overspread the area tonight, in association with a mid-
level disturbance tracking through the region. Rainfall amounts
are expected to be generally below two tenths of an inch, with
amounts less than a tenth of an inch likely across portions of
northern Illinois northwest of a line from near Mendota to O`Hare
Airport. Rain will taper to drizzle with areas of fog Tuesday
morning. Showers will redevelop later in the day Tuesday, along
and ahead of a sharp cold front which will push through the area
Tuesday night.

Temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s tonight through Tuesday,
but are expected to fall into the 30s behind the cold front
Tuesday night, and will struggle to get out of the upper 30s on
Wendesday. With the arrival of this colder air, scattered light
snow showers or flurries may linger in spots Wednesday. In
addition, strong west winds of 20 to 30 mph may gust to or in
excess of 40 mph at times Wednesday. Dry weather is then expected
for the remainder of the week, though we continue to monitor to
potential for winter weather over the weekend.
