.DISCUSSION...
The day will start with areas of dense fog in many areas west and
south of Chicago. Fog should gradually burn off a few hours after
sunrise however.
Showers and thunderstorms will spread into the region from the
west from midday into early this afternoon with the strongest
storms, capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts, tracking south of
a Mendota to Fowler line. Scattered showers and storms will
continue in spots this evening, before increasing in coverage
again overnight. Overnight storms will be capable of producing
torrential downpours which could leas to flooding or flash
flooding, especially if storms train repeatedly over the same
area. A Flood Watch is in effect tonight into early Friday for
this potential, mainly south of a Forreston Illinois to Valparaiso
Indiana line. Additional rounds of heavy rain producing storms
are possible into the weekend, as our active weather pattern
persists.
