.DISCUSSION...
A lake enhanced front will move inland this morning and stall out
near the I-294 to I-355 corridor in Illinois and near the
Illinois-Indiana state line for areas south of I-80. A few
showers may develop along the boundary this morning into the
afternoon though most areas are expected to remain dry today.
Inland of the boundary, winds will be out of the northwest and
deeper mixing may allow relative humidity values to drop into the
45 to 55 percent range in the afternoon. Higher humidity and lower
mixing heights are expected east of the boundary and near the
lake with winds out of the north to northeast.
A slow moving cold front will bring the potential for showers and
thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and night, some of which could be
strong to severe. Torrential rainfall may also lead to localized
flooding.
Cooler and dry conditions are then in store Wednesday afternoon
through Thursday with shower and storm chances returning heading
into the weekend.
