...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
  counties, Cook and Lake IL.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
  may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Roads and streets may
  be flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1255 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain. Multiple rivers gauges in the warned
    area have rapidly climbed to bankfull. Flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 2
    inches of rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Buffalo Creek, McDonald Creek, Skokie River, and North Branch
    Chicago River.
    Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Chicago, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Palatine,
    Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Hoffman Estates,
    Glenview, Buffalo Grove, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hanover Park,
    Wheeling, Park Ridge, Northbrook, Elk Grove Village, Niles
    and Highland Park.
