155 FZUS61 KBUF 270802 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 402 AM EDT Mon Jul 27 2026 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.6 inch low over the western Great Lakes this morning will strengthen to 29.3 inches while moving southeast into the lower Great Lakes tonight and Tuesday. A cold front associated with this low will swing across the lake late Tuesday and Tuesday night. The low will then weaken to 29.6 inches while drifting east into New England by Wednesday, before entering the northern Atlantic Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile a 30.0 inch high will slide across the Great Lakes Thursday and Friday.
