821 FZUS61 KBUF 142318 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 718 PM EDT Sun Jun 14 2026 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A cold front will drop south of the lower Great Lakes this evening. Following the front, a 29.9 inch high will build across the region through Monday, then exit off to our northeast Tuesday while weakening to 29.8 inches. A 29.4 inch low will then track north of the lake on Wednesday, with its trailing cold front approaching the lake late in the day on Wednesday. A second 29.4 inch surface low will pass across the upper Great Lakes Thursday, with a warm front, followed by a cold front to sweep across the lake throughout the day.
