OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
856 PM CDT Thu May 29 2025

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

High pressure of 30.2 inches centered over the central Plains
will continue to bring light winds across much of the Lake
tonight. Higher southwesterly winds in the northern third will
continue as low pressure of 29.4 inches continues to pivot
southeastward through northern Quebec. A cold front from this low
pressure system will progress south-southwest across Lake
Michigan Friday afternoon and evening, bringing a quick wind shift
to northerly. In addition, scattered thunderstorms may develop
along this front, especially across the southern half of the lake.
High pressure around 29.9 inches will then build into the region
and bring decreasing winds over the weekend.
