OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
904 PM CDT Mon Oct 6 2025

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Modest northerly winds continue over the southern half of the lake
this evening and overnight behind the cold front, with periods of
showers and weak thunderstorms. Light and variable winds for the
northern half during this period, with periods of light rain.

Showers and storms clear off of the lake in a north to south
manner Tuesday morning, leaving dry weather from mid Tuesday
onwards. High pressure builds to around 30.4 inches into the
Upper Midwest Tuesday and settles over the Great Lakes Region
through midweek. A period of breezy north winds overtakes the
whole lake Tuesday evening and night, subsiding into Wednesday as
high pressure draws closer. Increasing southerly winds return for
the end of the week as the high pressure gradually slides further
east.
