093 FZUS63 KMKX 170801 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 301 AM CDT Mon Aug 17 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... High pressure around 30.1 inches will build east from the Plains today, bringing light and variable winds to Lake Michigan through tonight. The high pressure will pass to the south of Lake Michigan on Tuesday and bringing increasing southwesterly winds through the day as a low pressure around 29.5 inches develops and meanders over the Hudson Bay region. This low pressure will then drag a slow moving cold front across the Upper Great Lakes later Tuesday into early Wednesday and bring thunderstorm chances back to the region. The front is progged to push east of the region by Wednesday with another high pressure building back into the region for the second half of the week along with light and variable winds. Increasing southwesterly winds are expected to return for the end of the week along with additional thunderstorm chances.
