188 FZUS63 KMKX 191958 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 258 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Current high pressure of 30.6 inches over the northeast US will gradually weaken, sliding southeast through this weekend. Breezy south-southwesterly winds are expected. Gusty conditions are expected across the northern half today into Sunday as low pressure of 29.6 inches moves from Western Canada into the Hudson Bay region impinging on the high pressure now around 30.4 inches in the eastern US. Showers possible across the far northern portions of the lake late tonight into Sunday. Monday, a developing low of 29.6 inches in the western US will gradually impinge and weaken the high in the east and pushing the high out by Tuesday evening with a front expected to slide through as the low slides northeast through the Hudson Bay area. Better chance for showers comes Tuesday night into Wednesday.
