427 FZUS63 KMKX 250731 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 231 AM CDT Sat Jul 25 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Gusty south to southwest winds are expected across all of Lake Michigan through today, as low pressure around 29.5 inches approaches from the northern Plains. Gusts up to 30 knots are expected over the north half of the lake. A frontal boundary will then stall mainly over Wisconsin and Lake Michigan tonight through most of Monday. This will result in increasing thunderstorm chances, with severe storms possible. Very warm, moist and unstable air flowing over the relatively cool waters may cause patchy dense fog over the lake early next week. Northerly winds are expected Monday night through Wednesday, as high pressure around 29.9 inches builds over the Upper Great Lakes. Look for southerly winds and more unsettled weather to resume Thursday into next weekend.
