OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
849 AM CDT Fri Sep 19 2025

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

East to northeast winds gradually build today, reaching 15 to 20
kt speeds over northern portions of the lake as high pressure of
30.3 inches drifts southeastward across Ontario Canada. High
pressure deepens to 30.4 inches tonight, working with weak surface
low pressure over the northern Great Plains to veer winds east to
southeast, with the fastest speeds tonight (around 25 kts) over
the southern half of the lake. Southeast winds gradually subside
throughout Saturday, remaining a bit breezy over the northern tip
of the lake. Slower winds will veer due south into Sunday.

Intermittent rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected
tonight through Monday night.
