412 FZUS63 KMKX 041408 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 908 AM CDT Sat Oct 4 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Broad high pressure around 30.4 inches lingers along the Mid- Atlantic coast, with developing low pressure across the Central Plains this weekend. Southerly winds will therefore increase across the open waters through this afternoon. Low pressure deepens to around 29.4 inches as it lifts across the Northern Plains into Ontario on Sunday, bringing widespread southerly gusts of 20-30 knots. A brief potential for gale force gusts across the northern third of the Lake Michigan later Sunday evening still exists. Given the brevity of the window for gales right around 35 knots, will continue to hold off on any gale headlines at this time, but will continue to monitor. The cold front extending off of the northern low pressure system will trek across the lake on Monday, bringing lighter winds shifting from west to northwesterly. High pressure then settles in for the middle of the week.
