932 FZUS63 KMKX 110758 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 258 AM CDT Fri Sep 11 2026 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... High pressure around 30.0 inches will continue to produce light and variable winds into this morning before shifting eastward, allowing southwesterly winds to increase as low pressure around 29.2 inches moves through Ontario into the Hudson Bay. A few gusts up to gale force are possible tonight into Saturday in the northern third of the open waters. Low pressure will drag a weak cold front across the Lake on Saturday, shifting winds to the west-northwest by Saturday night. Winds gradually diminish through Sunday as high pressure around 30.2 inches builds across the northern Plains and into the Great Lakes. Another area of low pressure then develops across the Canadian Plains and tracks across Ontario for Monday through Tuesday. This will bring a return of increasing south-southwesterly wind over Lake Michigan ahead of this systems cold front, with northwesterly winds behind the front. Gales are possible Monday into Monday night as the low makes its closest approach.
