OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
936 AM CST Wed Feb 12 2025

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Will see winds increase a bit and turn east to northeasterly
today as low pressure around 29.5 inches moves from the southern
Plains into the eastern Great Lakes. Will see snow showers
accompanying this low as it pushes through the region. Brisk winds
turn more northwesterly overnight into Thursday as the low lifts
into the eastern Great Lakes while high pressure around 30.5
inches moves into Minnesota and Iowa from the northern Great
Plains. Given the cold air and lingering winds into Thursday,
this may result in some moderate freezing spray concerns through
the afternoon. Then will see the high pressure skirt across the
Midwest and south of Lake Michigan Thursday evening into Friday
with lighter winds.
