965 FZUS63 KMKX 310907 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 307 AM CST Fri Jan 31 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Some dense fog is expected across southern portions of the lake into this morning, where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect. Brisk north to northeast winds are expected into tonight, as low pressure around 29.6 inches tracks from central Illinois to Pennsylvania. A few gale force gusts may occur this evening in southern portions of the lake. Modest east to northeast winds Saturday morning will shift southeast in the afternoon and Saturday night and become gusty, as polar high pressure around 30.7 inches moves southeast across Ontario. Low pressure around 29.7 inches will also move into the northern Plains. Breezy southerly winds will continue into Sunday, as low pressure around 29.6 inches shifts into western Ontario. A cold frontal passage will shift the winds to westerly for Sunday night and northwest by Monday.
