OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan
National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
236 PM CDT Sun Aug 24 2025

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Low pressure of 29.4 inches will remain over James Bay through
Monday and thus brisk northwest winds will persist through Monday.

There is a potential for waterspouts across the lake today and
tomorrow. Through Monday the best potential will be across the
northern and eastern portions of the lake.

High pressure of 30.2 inches will build into the region on
Tuesday, ending the risk for waterspouts and bringing lighter
winds to the lake. Winds will briefly turn westerly and
southwesterly on Wednesday as the high moves east of the region,
before another cold front pushes through the lake on Thursday.
