849 FZUS63 KMKX 301948 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 248 PM CDT Wed Jul 30 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... North to northeast winds will persist across Lake Michigan through Friday. Weak low pressure around 29.9 inches is moving east through the Ohio River Valley today bringing showers and thunderstorms to the southern half of the Lake. A few stronger gusts with the thunderstorms will be possible across the far southern end of the Lake, but not anticipating any severe level wind gusts. High pressure around 30.3 inches will move into the western Great Lakes from the Northern Plains Thursday. This area of high pressure will slowly move eastward overtimes and be overhead Saturday. Winds will light and variable across the lake much of the day Saturday before becoming light south to southeasterly Sunday afternoon as the high pushes into the New England States.
