918 FZUS63 KMKX 072157 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 457 PM CDT Mon Apr 7 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Low pressure will continue to exit east through tonight over southern Ontario. Gales are expected to ease over the southern half of the lake by early evening. Gusty north winds will remain elevated tonight and overlap with the intrusion of cold air over the Upper Great Lakes. Moderate Freezing Spray will be possible over the northern third to northern half of the open waters now through midnight CDT. North winds then ease going into Tuesday morning, and become northwesterly with time. Winds then grow light and variable over the lake Tuesday afternoon as high pressure of 30.2 moves southeast over the lake. Moderately breezy south winds then return Wednesday morning as warm advection moves over the region.
