195 FZUS63 KMKX 291908 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 208 PM CDT Mon Sep 29 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Light and variable winds continue across the waters this afternoon as 30.3 inch high pressure lingers over Lake Ontario. Patchy fog is possible over far northern and western portions of the lake later tonight. Currently centered along the Manitoba-Ontario border, a second area of 30.4 inch high pressure will drift into Ontario tonight through Tuesday, allowing east-northeast winds to become established over Lake Michigan. The high will strengthen to near 30.5 inches as it settles along the Ontario-Quebec border Tuesday night through Wednesday, maintaining generally easterly winds. The high will advance into the northeastern United States through the end of the week, allowing winds to turn out of the south Thursday through Friday. Broad low pressure will form over the northern Great Plains Saturday, and will gradually attempt to work toward the upper Mississippi River Valley by the end of next weekend. Chances for isolated showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast Saturday evening through Monday.
