005 FZUS63 KMKX 070207 GLFLM OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI 907 PM CDT Tue May 6 2025 FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan. Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will occasionally be encountered. .SYNOPSIS... Winds will remain generally light and variable this evening. A back door cold front will then bring increasing northerly winds from north to south overnight into Wednesday morning. North to northeast winds will remain breezy during the day tomorrow with gusts of 20 to 30 knots likely, as high pressure of 30.4 inches centered just south of Hudson Bay in Canada builds southward towards the area. The highest gusts tomorrow are expected to be over central and southern portions of the lake. Winds will be a little lighter Wednesday night into Thursday, but will remain on the breezy side as the high gradually slides southeastward. Light winds are then expected Friday as the high of 30.3 inches moves overhead.
