Gusty winds Thursday created areas of blowing dust across much of
Northern and Central Nevada. While winds have diminished
significantly, suspended dust particles continue to reduce
visibilities into the overnight and early Friday morning hours. As
of 1:00 AM the visibility at the Ely airport had dropped to one
and three quarters mile. Other areas such as Elko are reporting
visibility at 9 miles. Travelers across the region should be
alert through the overnight hours as reduced visibilities may make
driving challenging at times. Conditions are expected to improve
Friday morning.
