...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST
PARISH THROUGH 315 PM CDT
...

At 233 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds as well as
waterspouts over marine areas near Laplace and Reserve, moving
northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and winds in excess of 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
         hazardous waters. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
         and blow around unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Reserve, Laplace, Edgard, Garyville, Wallace, Montz, and Killona.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 197 and 211.
 Interstate 55 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 14.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
