Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... * Until 500 AM CDT. * At 303 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from 13 nm west of Pilottown to 15 nm northwest of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River to 12 nm southeast of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port, moving southeast at 5 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
