The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Mississippi Sound...

* Until 930 AM CDT.

* At 803 AM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of
  producing waterspouts was located along a line extending from near
  Pass Christian to 14 nm west of Cat Island to 10 nm east of
  Rigolets. The cluster of severe thunderstorms were nearly
  stationary.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
           vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
           Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Cat Island, Ship Island, Mississippi Sound, Pass Christian, Horn
  Island, and Pascagoula.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
