...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM CDT...

For the following areas...
Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...

At 631 PM CDT, a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing
waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Mandeville
to near Manchac to 6 nm southwest of Lake Maurepas, moving east at 25
knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts 34 knots or greater, and small
         hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
         vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
         Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
The Mid Point Of The Causeway Bridge, Mandeville, Lake Maurepas,
Kenner, Manchac, and Orleans Marina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
