...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT...

For the following areas...
Chandeleur Sound...
Mississippi Sound...

At 606 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts
were located along a line extending from near Cat Island to 10 nm
northwest of Chandeleur Sound, moving southwest at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
         vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
         Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

Locations impacted include...
Cat Island.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Strong winds will be dangerous for boaters or anyone near the water.
Make sure all on board are wearing life jackets. Seek shelter or move
to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.
