...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...

At 652 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and weak waterspouts. This
thunderstorm was located 7 nm northwest of Kenner, moving south at 10
knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

Brief, weak waterspouts are possible with this activity. Remain on
alert in case warnings are issued for waterspout development.
